About Blake

If offered the chance to exist exclusively on the Internet, he would think about it. If offered a chip implant in his brain that would allow him to check his email in his mind, he would definitely do it.

Me at "An Event Apart"

Hi, his name is Blake. And I am a piece of gray matter in his head that has been charged with the task of writing this bio in the third person. Blake is a computer nerd of sorts, as evidenced by the previously mentioned facts. He has a degree in Business Information Systems, a major he doubts you have ever heard of, and an MBA from Mississippi State University.

But what he really loves to do when he’s not making me come up with unintelligent, wannabe-witty remarks is making Web sites. He’s kind of big on Web standards and responsible markup, something else he doubts you’ve ever heard of. He designs sites on a freelance basis. If you’re in need, shoot him an email.

He also likes to write—whether it be poems, music, or mess like this. He wishes that everyone could just get along, but he doesn’t think that is possible. He writes about disability on this very Web site.

Blake believes that God has blessed him. Many people think there is no One to receive blessings from. He thinks it’s because they haven’t noticed the blessings they have already received.

About Matt

A card game required wearing silly hats

Matt speaks Spanish and a little journalism. At least, those are the two things he went to school for. Now he spends most of his time thinking up personal projects, reading on his new Kindle, seeking employment and watching the occasional “He-Man: Masters of the Universe” and “Spider-Man: The Animated Series” episodes for nostalgic purposes. He wants to be a novelist, Spanish-language instructor, graphic novel author and illustrator, interviewer, columnist, blogger and Ph.D. when he grows up.

Like his brother Blake, Matt has spinal muscular atrophy type 2. He lives with his brother, who he constantly argues with over the various schemes the Brothers Watson try to pull on any given day, including this blog.

Matt tries to remain positive about the fact that he’s wheelchair-bound but doesn’t always succeed. He strongly supports disability rights and social inclusion but has some “medical model” leanings.
